TMG to file more charges vs suspected carjackers

-

The Traffic Management Group (TMG) is set to file more charges against the suspected car thieves who were arrested for stealing the car of a daughter of an official of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) last week.

TMG director Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad said charges were filed against Dennis Ignacio, Eduardo Bonifacio, Edmond Bonifacio and Donald Berber based on the complaints of four other victims.

Palad said Marlon Barillo, Cernon Fernandez, Federico Vinavelez and Noel Curitana and his wife rushed to the office of the Task Force Limbas of the PNP-TMG in Camp Crame “after seeing the suspects on television and recognized them as the same armed men who forcibly took their respective luxury vehicles.”

Palad said the victims also identified a certain Dennis Ignacio Fabian, alias Daga, as the one who initially approached them with a firearm.

Barillo said he lost his Silver Toyota Prado (ZBT-818) to the suspects last Sept. 15 in front of his Project 8, Quezon City residence, while Fernandez claimed he lost his black Starex van (ZCR-451) last July 5 along Mindanao Avenue.

According to Palad, Vinavelez lost his white Starex van (KCZ-496) along Visayas Avenue last Aug. 11, while the Curitana couple lost their white Toyota Fortuner (ZJB-771) last Sept. 3 along Tandang Sora Avenue.

The four suspects were arrested at Greenhills, San Juan last week shortly after they took the Starex van of Czarina de Dios, daughter of MMDA Director Angelito Vergel De Dios, along Visayas Avenue in Quezon City last Sept. 17.

Palad said they are now in the process of coordinating with other law enforcement units to identify more victims of the arrested carjack suspects.

“The TMG won’t stop until they finally stop the nefarious activities of the members of the group,” said Palad, who also appealed to the public or to those who may recognize the members of the group to come out and coordinate with the Task Force Limbas or with his office.

The TMG’s contact numbers at the Tactical Operations Center are 726-1261 to 63, while the task force can be contacted at 724-8809. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
