Trinidad to put up 2 new precincts

Pasay City Mayor Wenceslao “Peewee” Trinidad has announced that the city government plans to put up two additional police precincts to help curb crimes.

Trinidad said they have identified specific areas in the Villamor Air Base as well as in the vicinity of the Mall of Asia as the sites where the two precincts will be built.

“We would want the local police to better serve the city by being able to immediately respond to the residents’ needs. These additional precincts will greatly help in addressing the concerns of the residents,” he said.

Trinidad said each of the two precincts will occupy a 100-square meter lot.

He has ordered Pasay police chief Superintendent Marietto Valerio to intensify operations against criminals.

“Lawless elements have grown bolder during my absence from the city hall and having used to doing illegal activities, they seem to think our campaign against crime is less than serious. Unfortunately, they are wrong,” Trinidad said.

He also directed all the city’s precinct commanders to step up the campaign against armed robbers, drug pushers and operators of illegal gambling games such as loteng, jueteng, video karera and sakla.

“There should be increased police visibility all over the city including in school zones so the police will also be able to check students engaged in rumbles and other forms of violence,” Trinidad said.

He added that he wants the police to strictly enforce city regulations prohibiting the drinking of alcoholic beverages on city streets, roaming shirtless on city streets and the indiscriminate dumping of garbage.
