A homeowners’ group in BF Homes subdivision in

Hernando Juatas, convenor of the Homeowners’ Welfare Advocacy Group (HWAG), said.
He said if the plan pushes through, addressing the water supply problem will have to be conducted in stages.
Juatas also raised the possibility of putting up water stations in affected areas within the subdivision once the main pipe becomes serviceable again.
“For the meantime, private tankers will be supplying water to these households. This will somehow serve as a relief for the residents who have been waterless for several years now,” he said.
The group earlier appealed to President Arroyo to convince officials of Maynilad and the subdivision’s developer to provide them water even for just two hours a day.
“Other areas in Parañaque have water supply for 12 to 24 hours. Small villages along President’s Avenue was provided with four-hour water supply after they appealed to you,” Juatas said.

Around 50,000 people reportedly live in the waterless areas of the subdivision.
“Some were without water in the last 10 years, others in the last 15 years. Few households subsist on home wells,” Juatas said.
He said Maynilad is willing to provide water pipeline repair services but is hindered by a right-of-way wrangle with the developer.
“The developer has given us several excuses – that their pumps could not draw water from wells anymore, they need to rehabilitate their wells, etc.,” Juatas said.
Maynilad said it cannot service the entire subdivision since the developer of BF Homes has refused to give it the right of way. – Rhodina Villanueva
