Bernabe’s brother robbed

Three armed men robbed the brother of Parañaque Mayor Florencio Bernabe inside a restaurant in the city last Wednesday afternoon.

Parañaque police chief Superintendent Ronald Estilles identified the victims as Dr. Renato "Boy" Bernabe and his wife Baby. Renato is the elder brother of the mayor.

Police probers said the robbers, armed with handguns, entered the Bacolod Chicken House along President’s Avenue in Barangay BF Homes at 1 p.m. and announced the holdup.

Two of the suspects went to the table where the Bernabe family were seated and took their jewelry and cellular phones. They also took valuables from other customers in the restaurant.

The suspects escaped without taking anything from the cash register of the restaurant.

Police said the robbers belong to the FX Robbery Gang, who are responsible for the series of robberies on public utility vehicles.

Estilles said his men are hunting down one of the gang’s alleged leaders, Bobby Baliber, a resident of Purok 5, Sampaloc, Site 2, Barangay BF Homes. Baliber had been arrested on Nov. 26 on charges of robbery. – Rhodina Villanueva
