The Bureau of Corrections has withdrawn its request for the Law Enforcement Hotline Movement Inc. to conduct a medical and dental mission for inmates at the New Bilibid Prisons.
BuCor Director Vicente Vinarao said that though they are thankful for the support the group is extending to the penal institution, the bureau cannot allow the group to hold activities at the NBP.
"May we request that any form of solicitation and/or fund raising in the guise of supporting such intended cause be discontinued," Vinarao said in a letter addressed to David Alimorong, the group’s national adviser.
Earlier, the police issued a warning against members of the said group who were allegedly engaged in extortion activities in the guise of conducting fundraising activities. – Rhodina Villanueva
