Calixto seeks court intervention in his return to Pasay City Hall

The camp of dismissed Pasay City Vice Mayor Antonino Calixto is set to file a petition before the Court of Appeals (CA) to provide a sheriff to escort him to the Pasay City Hall.
Calixto was turned away by policemen securing the City Hall premises when he attempted to get inside the building on Monday to return to his job, despite a temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by the Court of Appeals on his suspension.
The TRO was the response of the appellate court to Calixto’s suspension ordered by the Office of the Ombudsman.
However, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) maintained that Calixto could not assume the mayoralty post pending a response from the CA on the DILG’s request for clarification on the TRO.
Interior Undersecretary Wencelito Andanar asked the CA to clarify some points, including the specific position which Calixto could be reinstated.
