A local foundation in cooperation with the Quezon City government donated mobile clinic residents of the city’s District 1 to provide basic health services to the residents.
Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. led city officials at the launching of the Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Mobile Clinic in simple ceremonies at the Quezon City Hall.
The mobile clinic will provide professional healthcare to the city’s urban poor residents that often seek treatment from local quack doctors.
BH Mobile Clinic has modern equipment such as X-ray, ECG, and other medical laboratory examination devices.
The project was initiated by the Bagong Henerasyon Foundation of District 1 Councilor Bernadette (BH) Herrera-Dy. Her first mobile project is the much-acclaimed BH Computer School on wheels.
Dy said the mobile clinic will be able to reach more poor residents.
She said getting free medical assistance is the right of every individual.
Dy expects the senior citizens, children and teenagers to benefit from the project.
Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista and several members of the city council were also present at the launching rites.
City hall employees were the first beneficiaries to be treated after the launching ceremonies.
Dy and her foundation have been providing free health services to poor residents of District 1. The free health services include supplemental feedings, medical missions, optical missions, circumcision, ECG and X-ray.
They have also been conducting blood analysis, blood sugar and pap smear tests, breast examinations, anti-hepatitis B and anti-rabies vaccinations, hydrocephalus and cleft palate treatment, and campaigns against dengue and SARS.
