Crime in Caloocan down – Echiverri

Caloocan City Mayor Enrico "Recom" Echiverri reported yesterday that crime in his city has gone down by as much as 36 percent since January compared to the same period last year.

He attributed the drop to the "hard work and dedication of service of our men in uniform," giving particular praise to police chief Superintendent William Macavinta.

"Unscrupulous individuals are usually discouraged to commit criminal acts because of intensified police visibility and checkpoints periodically carried out throughout the city," Echiverri said in a statement issued to the media.

He also lauded barangay officials and members of the barangay police for working closely with the police department in maintaining law and order.
