South Korea donates bus, IT equipment to QC

South Korea donated yesterday to Quezon City a shuttle bus, information technology (IT) facilities to be used by students of the Korea-Philippines Information Technology (KorPhil) in Novaliches District.

Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Hong Jong-Ki handed to Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. a symbolic key for the 30-seater Hyundai bus in a turnover ceremony held at the school.

Aside from the bus, 2d animation software and uninterrupted d-supply servers room were also handed to the city government.

The donations were coursed through TESDA assitant director Santiago Yabut Jr.

Belmonte thanked the South Korean government for its continuing support to his administration’s efforts to make Quezon City a technology hub in Metro Manila.

KorPhil is a premier Information Technology training center developed jointly by the South Korean government, TESDA and the Quezon City government. The city government provided the land for the center, located inside the QC Polytechnic University. – Perseus Echeminada
