A bus inspector was accidentally shot and killed while trying to pacify a security guard and a bus conductor who were arguing over a parking space inside a terminal in Muntinlupa City yesterday.
According to investigator Senior Police Officer 4 Mario Tubon, a bus of the Pandacan Bus Transport parked in the St. Rose bus terminal, located beside Metropolis mall in Alabang, at around 9:20 a.m.
The security guard of the terminal, Victor Cainguitan, confronted bus conductor Joel Cammayon and told him to park elsewhere, saying the terminal was for St. Rose buses.
Cammayon and Cainguitan got into an argument that resulted in a fistfight.
Cammayon and his companions allegedly ganged up on the security guard, who was prompted to draw his gun. However, St. Rose bus inspector Rodolfo de Ocampo got in the way and was shot in the back by Cainguitan.
De Ocampo died while undergoing treatment at the Alabang Medical Clinic.
A homicide charge is being readied against Cainguitan, now detained by the police.
