Quezon City Assistant Prosecutor Raymund Jonathan Lledo, executive vice president of the Samahan Barbelista ng Pilipinas, said they will send a formal invitation to Schwarzenegger who was a former Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympian titleholder.
"As former Mr. Universe and seven times Mr. Olympian, Gov. Schwarzenegger will be our guest during the competition," he said.
Lledo, who headed the team which won top honors in the recent international competition organized by the National Amateur Bodybuilding Association International (NBBA, Int) said the QC team, which represented the Philippines has stood above 200 participants from 39 countries.
"The tandem of Ma. Cristila Abanto and Ringo Borlain garnered a perfect score and was awarded the Mr. and Ms. Universe, he said.
Abantao, a 27-year-old gym instructor from Quezon City owns the DWAN fitness center and was also 3rd runner up in the Ms. Figure category.
Meanwhile, team mate Roman Cortuna won the second place in the Mr. Universe (short category), losing only to Jose Armengon of Spain.
"This was by far the best showing ever in the history of Philippine bodybuilding," Lledo said.
With the honors garnered in German competition, the Philippine team will host the Asia-Pacific Bodybuilding Championship which is expected to be attended by top bodybuilders in Asia- Pacific countries.
Lledo said they expect to again excel in the coming regional competition which will be highlighted by the presence of Schwarzenegger.
