High explosive used in Dudut attack
December 19, 2006 | 12:00am
The improvised explosive device that exploded and destroyed the car of Pasig City Rep. Robert "Dudut" Jaworski last Dec. 12 contained nitroglycerine, a component found in dynamite, police disclosed yesterday.
The Eastern Police District (EPD) released yesterday the findings of the crime laboratory of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Analysts found traces of nitroglycerine, a high explosive, from the wreck of Jaworskis Toyota Innova, said Senior Superintendent Federico Terte, the EPDs deputy director for operations and concurrent head of the Task Force Avoni, formed to investigate the bomb attack.
Earlier reports stated that the bomb components used was cyclonite-RDX, a high explosive usually found in C-4 plastic explosives.
Terte met with his task force yesterday to discuss the case. He refused to give details. "I cannot divulge as yet what was discussed during the case conference for it might jeopardize ongoing investigations."
Terte admitted they still have no suspect.
Jaworski and his brother Ryan were on their home coming from a wake in Bgy. Pineda on Dec. 12 when the bomb went off. They were unhurt. Non Alquitran
