Three men ransack house in Caloocan

- Jerry Botial -
Three masked men robbed and hogtied household members in a residential village and sped away with the loot chucked into the victims’ own car early yesterday in Caloocan City.

PO3 Elvis Imperial, officer-on-case, said Marissa Andal, 49, and her household were sleeping at around 1:30 a.m. when the suspects — each armed with a samurai, a knife and an improvised shotgun (sumpak) — broke in by scaling the terrace on the second floor of the Andals using a makeshift ladder and through an unlocked door.

Among the articles lost to the three men in black bonnets were various appliances, a computer, web camera, jewelry and cell phones, altogether worth over P100,000.

Also taken as their get-away vehicle was a maroon Mitsubishi Adventure.

The victim’s son Bernabe, who was still up, was caught by surprise as one of the suspects grabbed him and poked a knife on his side.

The robbers then proceeded to the master’s bedroom where Andal was roused from sleep.

Helper Mark Dave Santiago, whose attention was caught by the noise, went out of his room and went up the second floor where he too was taken. The three were then hogtied before the suspects ransacked the room.

The suspects then demanded the car keys and loaded their loot into the van and sped away toward Bagong Silang.

The van was later found abandoned in Bagong Silang by Substation 5 policemen.
