QC ready for Human Rights Week

The Quezon City government has lined up various activities in connection with the week-long celebration of the National Human Rights Consciousness Week.
Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. cited the need to celebrate the occasion in an effort to raise public awareness on human rights and to further uphold the cause of human rights.
The city government, together with the Commission on Human Rights, has drawn up activities to mark the Dec 1-10 celebration.
Gilbert Boiser, director of the CHR National Capital Region office, called on Filipinos to participate in the celebration by joining various activities or by displaying streamers at the façade of their buildings.
The theme for this years observance is "Karapatang Pantao: Susi sa Kapayapaan, Katarungan at Kaunlaran (Human Right: The Key to Peace, Justice and Progress)."
The week-long observance is in line with Republic Act 9210. Perseus Echeminada
