14-year-old boy held for grandmas killing

Quezon City police have taken into a custody a teenage boy suspected of killing his 57-year-old grandmother in their shanty in Bagong Silangan late Wednesday.
Police said the suspects neighbors rushed to the victims shanty after hearing a commotion at around 11:30 p.m.
They found the 14-year-old boy kneeling beside the body of Editha Sepoda, who had several stab wounds.
The boy claimed he was asleep beside his grandmother and did not see the attacker. Police turned him over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development, where he will remain in custody during the investigation.
Investigators are looking into reports that the boy suffered beatings from his grandmother even for the slightest mistakes.
