A baggage-laden cart got disengaged from a multi-cab truck of domestic carrier Asian Spirt and rammed into a small aircraft of SEAIR (South East Asian Airlines).
The SEAIR plane, a Dornier 328 aircraft bound for Caticlan, Aklan was parked at Bay 7 at the general aviation area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) waiting for its 30 passengers to board for a 1:30 p.m. flight when the wayward baggage cart rammed into its left rear side.
The crash damaged the Dorniers fuselage in the rear located near the aft doors. The flights pilot, identified only as Capt. Lacanilao reportedly asked for a change of aircraft, delaying the flight for an hour. Meanwhile, the driver of the Asian Spirit tow truck, was arrested and placed under investigation.
