Lawmaker allocates P3 M for ecopark rehab

-
Quezon City Rep. Nanette Castelo Daza has allocated P3 million from her congressional funds for the rehabilitation of the La Mesa Ecopark in Quezon City.

Daza said the allocation is a show of support for the preservation and protection of the locality’s natural environment.

"The future generation deserves a better world. Together with the ABS-CBN Foundation, we are building that world by preserving the natural beauty of our environment," she said.

The rehabilitation project was formally recognized during the signing of a memorandum of agreement between Daza and ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. managing director Regina Lopez yesterday.

Also present during the signing of the MOA was Quezon City district engineer Reynaldo Tagudando from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The DPWH is in charge of the physical implementation of the project.Included in the project is the construction of a multi-purpose building within the ecopark, Daza said.

The lawmaker requested the foundation to allow some 300 street children to enter the ecopark and use some of its facilities like the swimming pool for free.
