Illegal structures to be demolished in Makati

-
The Housing Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) is set to demolish illegal structures allegedly constructed by some residents of Forbes Park and Dasmariñas Village on its off-base housing project for personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Amado Bagatsing, HUDCC vice chairman, said in a press statement that the demolition of the illegal structures was based on the request of Lt. Gen. Romeo Tolentino, commanding general of the Philippine Army, to the HUDCC to help settle the boundary issue covering the site of the Bonifacio Heights housing project of the AFP.

Bagatsing, who is chairman of the management team implementing the project, was requested to conduct a joint survey of the project site together with representatives from the AFP and the homeowners’ associations of Forbes Park and Dasmariñas Village.

Earlier, Bagatsing said he wrote Jose Concepcion, chairman of Barangay Forbes Park in Makati City, requesting the names and addresses of lot owners whose structures and fences have allegedly encroached on the seven-hectare HUDCC Bonifacio Heights housing project.

In his reply to Bagatsing, Concepcion identified 12 owners of lots along Tamarind Street in Forbes Park, which were said to have encroached on the property of the HUDCC along an open creek between the two villages.

HUDCC withheld their names pending formal notice.
