Three construction workers were buried under mud after a mountain of soil at a digging area collapsed in Makati City yesterday.
All three workers, one identified as Danilo Paqueros, 32, were rescued and brought to the Ospital ng Makati. As of press time, only Paqueros was in stable condition.
Makati Rescue and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel rushed to the area after receiving information about the incident at around 7:10 p.m.
The construction workers were reportedly digging a canal near a lot at the corner of Buendia and South Superhighway near Cash and Carry in Barangay Palanan when the accident happened.
Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay himself rushed to the area after learning of the incident.
Continuous rains and lack of fences that could have prevented the mud from falling are being blamed for the tragedy.
