The police has launched a manhunt against a security guard who reportedly robbed his female officemate of payroll money amounting to close to half a million pesos in Makati City last Friday.
Gilbert Buntag, a security guard of Free Aire Industries Inc. based in Makati City, managed to escape while his cohort, identified as Saturday Carpo, 26, a native of Camarines Sur, was arrested by police operatives.
In a complaint filed at the Theft and Robbery Section (Criminal Investigation Unit) of the Makati Police Station, Aurea Ferreras, 35, of Las Piñas City, said that the robbery happened at around 3:45 p.m. along Gil Puyat Avenue corner Washington Street in Barangay Pio Del Pilar in Makati.
The victim, a secretary in the same company where Buntag works, had just withdrawn payroll money amounting to P372,500 from the PCI Equitable Bank. She was reportedly just a few meters away from the bank when the two suspects approached her and declared a holdup. Rhodina Villanueva
