QC public teachers to receive cash gifts

Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. has approved the grant of P1,200 cash gift to the 10,133 public school teachers and non-teaching personnel of the city schools division.
In a memorandum circular, Belmonte ordered the release of the incentive twice a year. The first payment will be received not later than June 30 and the second payment will be given not later than Dec. 31.
Entitled to receive the mid-year cash gift are teaching and non-teaching personnel who are still in service as of April 30, 2006, while those who will receive the year-end gift are those still in service by Oct. 31.
Also entitled to receive the cash gift are those who have rendered four months of continuous service from Jan. to April for the mid-year gift and from the July to October for the year-end cash benefit, inclusive of leaves of absence with pay and those who are presently on official leave without pay but have rendered a total of four months service.
Not included in the grant are personnel whose employment are covered by a contract, including consultants and those who are part of the organic manpower of the city government, those who have been declared Absent Without Leave (AWOL) and those who are under preventive suspension or have been meted suspension without pay.
