Malacañang has declared July 3 as a special non-working holiday in Pasig City.
Proclamation 1091, signed by Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita and Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Joaquin Lagonera will allow the people of Pasig City to celebrate the 433rd Araw ng Pasig.
According to Ermita, Pasig Mayor Vicente Eusebio personally requested Malacañang to declare July 3, Monday, a holiday, because the actual date of the 433rd Araw ng Pasig is July 2, which falls on a Sunday.
"It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Pasig be given a full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies," Proclamation 1091 stated.
As this developed, Eusebio encouraged Pasigueños to observe the historical importance of the citys foundation day of the city.
The celebration and public service-oriented activities in Pasig will kick off on June 30.
