The Parañaque City government will stage today the first Binibining Parañaque pageant under Mayor Florencio "Jun" Bernabe.
Parañaque First Lady Maria Fe Bernabe said the beauty contest will be held at the Casino Filipino complex along Dr. A Santos Avenue near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
She disclosed that respected designer Frederick Peralta headed the judging process that screened the 15 beautiful, talented and smart candidates.
No politician or Parañaque resident will serve as judge in the contest.
"We really want to stage a prestigious pageant that will choose a Binibining Parañaque that we can be proud of," Bernabe said.
The winning candidate will serve as the citys ambassador and will grace its many events and projects, particularly those involving youth and sports.
Funds that will be raised through the pageant will be donated to Bahay Aruga, the city governments home for abandoned children. Rainier Allan Ronda
