Las Piñas blaze leaves 20 families homeless

-
Twenty families were left homeless when fire hit a row of shanties in Las Piñas City early yesterday.

Senior Fire Officer 3 Noel Consignado, arson investigator, said the blaze razed 10 houses located on San Jose street, Ilaya Extension in Las Piñas.

No one was injured in the incident.

The fire started in the house of a certain Arnel Omigan at around 1:06 a.m.

Consignado said the fire spread quickly because the house were made of light materials.

A total of 13 firetrucks were sent to the scene to help put out the blaze, which reached the third alarm. The fire was contained around 2:56 a.m.

Consignado said their initial investigation showed that faulty electrical wiring could have caused the fire. Rhodina Villanueva
