Navotas to launch Project KKK

- Pete Laude -
The Navotas municipal government and the local police will be launching an information campaign to promote crime prevention and illegal drugs awareness among students, teachers and other school personnel during the opening of classes next month.

Mayor Toby Tiangco said Project KKK, which stands for Kilos Kontra Krimen will formally kick off on June 5. Under the campaign, members of the local police force in coordination with the local government and school officials will conduct a series of lectures at public and private schools.

Among the topics are tips on how to avoid being a victim of a crime, the role of students and schools in crime prevention, salient features of the new drug law, the beauty of a drug-free life; and awareness on Patrol 117 (Text the chief of police-Text COP, Text Mayor Toby-Text TMT).

"Crime prevention is everybody’s concern," Tiangco said.

The mayor said the program aims to instill in the minds of the students, the importance of vigilance and awareness as effective instruments in the fight against criminality.

"Let’s do our share and help our law enforcers," Tiangco appealed to his constituents.

Jerry Doringo, Navotas public information officer, said project KKK is also part of the Balik Eskwela Program of the municipal government that aims to ensure the safety of students and promote a child-friendly environment in this coastal town. With Kris Rodette Belanizo
