Repackaged Canon printer inks seized

Elements of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recently confiscated P1.5 million worth of repackaged printer toners and inks of Canon Kabushiki Kaisha from three computer stores in Las Piñas City.

NBI Agent III Joseph Furing of the Intellectual Property Rights Division said they seized 1,321 pieces of repackaged Canon inks and toners, 200 empty boxes, 150 stickers, 152 barcode stickers, 95 hologram stickers and 194 leaflets bearing the Canon trademark.

Furing said the original Canon ink costs P1,200 while the imitation is sold at only P1,000. Evelyn Macairan
