Anti-porn group to file complaint against MTRCB

- Sandy Araneta -
An anti-pornography  group is set to formally file a complaint today before the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) against the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) for approving the showing of around 20 films reportedly filled with sex and violence.

Philippine Alliance Against Pornography Inc. (PAAP) spokesman Aldo Filomeno said the 20 films will be presented to the CHR.

Filomeno also warned the MTRCB not to allow the importation of the master negative film of ‘’The Da Vinci Code’’ to the country because it is in violation of Presidential Decree 1986.

The decree, he explained, states that the MTRCB is not allowed to import any film that is libelous or defamatory to the good name and reputation of any person, whether living or dead, and films that are immoral and indecent.

Filomeno said  MTRCB chief Ma. Consoliza Laguardia and other board members will be criminally liable and will face imprisonment if they allow such importation.

"There is no other way for them to go but in jail. We have tried all diplomatic solutions,’’ he said. " We have in our custody all the necessary documents to pin down Laguardia and the board members."
