Top Las Piñas graduates receive perks from Villar

Thirty top elementary, high school and college graduates of Las Piñas City are this year’s recipients of the cash incentive reward program of Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar, chairman of the House committee on higher and technical education.

Topping the list of this year’s awardees are Dr. Filemon Aguilar Memorial College BSBA-Marketing top graduates Genalyn Villamucho, Rosallie Biason and Jeffrey Manansala.

Each received a cash incentive and medal of excellence from the congresswoman.

Eight more top high school and 19 elementary graduates each received cash incentives.

Each of the 30 top graduates was also conferred with the Manuel B. Villar academic excellence award in recognition of their outstanding performance in school.

The award aims to encourage students to develop a stronger sense of discipline and deeper commitment to education as a foundation for a bright future.

The academic award also celebrates the academic achievement of students through hard work and determination or "sipag at tiyaga."

"Education remains to be the important factor in our youth’s quest for a brighter future. We must do our share to encourage them to do well in school," Villar said.

The lawmaker continues to implement student-friendly program in Las Piñas, including feeding programs for day care students, dental hygiene in schools and putting up classrooms, covered courts, libraries and providing computers.

Villar is also pushing for the creation of a science high school in Las Piñas that will cater to the educational needs of underprivileged, but deserving students in her district.
