Payatas raid nets 14 unlicensed guns

Quezon City police operatives rounded up 34 suspected criminals and seized 14 home-made shotguns during a raid at the White Mosque compound in Payatas Quezon City yesterday morning.
Chief Superintendent Nicasio Radovan, QCPD chief, said Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and elements of the Payatas police swooped down on the compound at about 7 a.m.
The raid was in connection with Oplan Galugads continuing anti-criminality drive of the QCPD on suspected criminal hideouts in various parts of the city.
Radovan said at least 14 home-made shotguns locally known as sumpak 12 and two caliber .38 revolvers were recovered by the police during the operation.
He said 34 suspected criminals were brought to the police station for verifaction if they have pending warrants of arrest.
Radovan said the saturation drive will continue to flush out criminals from their hideouts. Perseus Echeminada
