1 dead, 3 hurt in Makati road mishap

An early morning collision involving five vehicles claimed the life of a firefighter and injured three others in Makati City yesterday.
The fatality was identified as Fire Officer 2 Wilfredo Bernardo.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Makati.
Those injured were identified as Teodorico Lopeo, Eugene Casela, and Jay Enrico, who are currently being treated for head and body injuries.
Initial reports said the incident happened at around 3 a.m. near the corner of Sergio Osmeña Highway and Arnaiz street.
Bernardo, on board an Isuzu pick-up with license plate VCJ-882, apparently lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a parked passenger jeepney and a Nissan Altima.
The three-vehicle collision sent a Mitsubishi Lancer swerving before ramming a trailer truck.
