Anti-drug cops nab 9

- Pete Laude -
Caloocan City police arrested at least nine suspected drug users and peddlers in a series of operations at known drug havens in the northern part of the city before dawn yesterday.

Superintendent Napoleon Cuaton, chief of the Station Anti-Illegal Drugs-Special Operations Unit (SAID-SOU) of the Caloocan City police, said the operations were conducted in Bagong Silang, Camarin and Tala.

The SAID-SOU officers first arrested couple Dominador and Joan Crisostomo at their house at Phase 4, Package 7, Block 59, Lot-C in Bagong Silang.

Jonathan Estoy, 27, the couple’s tenant, was also arrested for interfering in the operation.

SPO3 Benjar Matining said the suspects were caught in a drug session. Seized from the suspects were a plastic sachet with shabu residue and drug paraphernalia.

Three other drug offenders, David Bernabe, Rolly Marquez and Andrew Antonio, were arrested in Camarin during another operation.

In San Lazaro, Tala, three suspects, including a minor were caught in possession of four plastic sachets of shabu and three small plastic bags containing rugby.

Northern Police District director Chief Superintendent Leopoldo Bataoil earlier said meetings with the local officials, police and all concerned agencies have been set for this month to tackle the drug problem in the Camanava area.
