Fire hits Pasay
February 26, 2006 | 12:00am
Property worth an estimated P2 million was destroyed in a fire that hit Pasay City yesterday morning.
Senior Inspector Junito Maslang of the Pasay Fire Department said the fire, which started around 9 a.m., razed a two-storey boarding house and partially destroyed nine neighboring houses along H. Domingo street near Park Avenue.
No one was hurt in the incident. Maslang identified the owner of the boarding house as Anselmo Aguilar.
Arson investigators said a possible gas leak in the kitchen at the second floor of the boarding house could have started the blaze.
Maslang, however, said a follow-up investigation is being conducted to determine the real cause of the blaze.
The fire, which reached the fifth alarm, was contained at around 12:08 by firefighters.
Assistance was provided by firetrucks from nearby cities. Rhodina Villanueva
