Carjackers shot dead a male nursing student after taking his AUV last Sunday evening in Parañaque City.
Police Officer 2 Tio Calvo, officer-on-case, identified the victim as 19-year-old Richard Capili, a student at Southville International School and a resident Barangay BF Homes in Las Piñas City.
Calvo said Capili was on board his black Toyota Revo (WRY-883), which was parked in front of the LBC Landco Center Mall at the corner of Presidents Avenue and Gil Puyat street when three men approached him.
One of the suspects poked a caliber .45 pistol at Capili and ordered him to step out of the vehicle.
When Capili resisted, the suspects beat him up.
As Capili shouted for help, the suspect with the gun shot him twice in the right armpit.
The victim had been waiting for his younger sister, who was buying school supplies at the Little Town Bookstore inside the mall when the incident happened.
Capili was rushed to the Parañaque Medical Center by bystanders.
He was pronounced dead by attending doctors 15 minutes after his body was brought in.
A staff of Guimaras Rep. Edgar Espinosa confirmed that the victim was the nephew of the politician.
Police said they are tracking down the suspects, who sped off in Capilis Revo toward the direction of Dr. A. Santos Avenue.
Calvo said they will be releasing cartographic sketches of the suspects.
