All systems go for QCs Camp Pag-Ibig

Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. will host this Sunday the 30th anniversary of Camp Pag-Ibig, a special day camp for physically and emotionally disadvantaged children to be held at the Balara Filtration Plant in Diliman, Quezon City.
Belmonte, who is the honorary camp director of the day-long activities will lead officials, sponsors, campers, parents and volunteers in the blessing and unveiling of a marker for the 30th year celebration.
Former Councilor Jorge Banal, this years camp director, said some 3,000 participants are expected to troop to the camping area. The activity coincides with National Mental Retardation Week .
The theme for this years celebration is "Camp Pag-ibig 2006: Three Decades of Concerted Efforts, Strengthening Community Relations."
Two medical teams and four lifeguards from the MWSS and Philippine National Red Cross will be at the site for day campers, while an ambulance from the city governments Task Force Sagip Buhay will also be on standby at the site. Perseus Echeminada
