Motorcycle thief nabbed in Malabon

A man, who had succeeded in stealing three parked motorcycles, ran out of luck after he was spotted by one of his victims and got him locked up last Tuesday in Malabon.

A police team that included PO3s Amadeo Tayag, Ruel Rebonza and PO2 Roberto Palomo of the Malabon police Special Operations Group and Follow Up Unit arrested suspect Jay-Ar Bartolome, 21, of Barangay Longos, Malabon City.

Records showed at 4 a.m. last Tuesday, businesswoman Rosalyn Pingol appeared at the police station seeking help after she spotted Bartolome roaming around at the fish market area.

Pingol told police she was positive it was Bartolome who took her red Shark 125 (TK-9859) worth P60,000 last Dec. 11 at the AGF fish market on Estrella street in Barangay Tanong, Malabon.

Pingol’s claim was corroborated by witnesses Lilet Rivera, 32, a vendor and Rodora Abadiz-Romero, 36, a traffic aide. The police responded and collared the suspect.

Later, Charo Banza, 29, of Navotas and Oliver Santos, 30, of Malabon, appeared at the station and positively identified Bartolome as the one who took their motorcycles.

Banza said she lost her silver Jet Sym Euro (TQ-9662) last Dec. 18 in front of the San Bartolome church in Barangay San Agustin.

Santos said the suspect took his orange Jet Sym Euro (EP-3781) last Jan. 10 in front of the St. James Academy also in Barangay San Agustin.
