This tax season, Mayor Tiñga has ensured to make paying taxes in Taguig a pleasurable experience. Taxpayers only have to go to the satellite centers near their location instead of having to travel to city hall for their transactions.
The Fort Bonifacio satellite government center under area manager Paul Michael Vasquez is now holding office at the 4th floor of Market! Market!; FTI under Saphia April Al-Raschid is now at the Camp Badminton office at the FTI complex; and Lower Bicutan under Nancy Pagsisihan is holding office at the former DPWH compound, near Camp Bagong Diwa.
"Through these satellite government centers, we will be able to focus on the problems that need to be addressed by the city government, improve peace and order, increase tax collections without necessarily raising taxes and ensure development in the different areas of Taguig," Tiñga said.
Vasquez’s office will cover the Fort Bonifacio area; Al-Raschid’s will oversee Barangays Upper Bicutan, Western Bicutan, including FTI and Veterans Industrial Estate, Signal Village and Maharlika Village; Pagsisihan’s office will cover Barangays Lower Bicutan, Bagumbayan and Bagong Tanyag.
The Poblacion area covering Barangays Sta. Ana, Wawa, Bambang, Ususan, Tuktukan, Hagonoy and Calzada, Palingon, Ligid, Ibayo all of Tipas and Paindan are directly under City Hall.
As government offices opened last Monday, Tiñga made the rounds of the centers to check on their operation, particularly the services being rendered for the convenience of the city’s taxpayers.
This 2006, city officials are bent on bringing professionalized government service closer to the people as well as lower taxes to invite more investments and develop Taguig into a business hub.
