San Juan knife duel leaves 2 dead

-
A security guard and a carpenter were killed in a knife duel in San Juan yesterday.

The bodies of Jeason Reanan, 30, a carpenter, and Nilo Agoring, 35, a security guard, were discovered at 3:30 a.m. yesterday at a furniture shop located on Pasadena street, in Barangay Pasadena.

Both sustained numerous knife wounds in the body.

San Juan police chief Superintendent Rodelio Jocson said that prior to the duel Agoring and Reanon were engaged in a heated argument.

After stabbing Agoring, Reanan was seen running out of the furniture shop.

But he did not get very far and fell to the ground bleeding.

Senior Inspector Russel Leynes, of the Eastern Police District (EPD) Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO) led the processing of evidence and examination of the bodies.

In Caloocan City, an ice cream vendor was shot dead while a seven-year-old boy was seriously hit by a stray bullet in the head by one of three still unidentified suspects Thursday night.

Senior Inspector Jose Valencia, investigation chief, identified the fatality as Woody Ladino, 37, of Little Baguio street, Barangay 180, Victory Heights Subdivision, Caloocan City.

PO2 Albert Eustaquio, officer-on-case, said seriously injured was Ariel Bagnol of the same address, who was taken to the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC), where he is under observation.

The victim and his friend Eduardo Dosdoso were enjoying a drink at around 10 p.m. last Thursday at his house when the former decided to walk out to the nearby variety store to buy cigarettes.

As Ladino approached the store, the triggerman, who was wearing a bonnet, fired at the victim.

The two other suspects, who were not far behind, also fired several shots.

Ladino slumped to the ground with multiple gunshot wounds in the head and body. The unwary Bagnol, who was inside the store, was hit by a stray bullet in the left ear.

Recovered at the scene were four empty shells from a 9 mm pistol and seven spent cartridges from a caliber .45 pistol.

Police have yet to establish a motive for the killing. — Non Alquitran, Jerry Botial
