Cops find new witness in Parañaque attack

- Rhodina Villanueva -
Police said yesterday they have in their custody a new witness who can help solve the case involving four drinking buddies shot dead by a group of gunmen last Monday in Parañaque City.

Parañaque police chief Superintendent Ronald Estilles said the witness, whose identification is being withheld, is credible and the testimony will definitely help in the immediate arrest of the suspects.

"The said witness surfaced the other day and claimed seeing the suspects in the act of shooting brothers Arvin and John Allen Factors, their cousin John Bismark Chan and friend Jerome Garcia. It seems that the new witness knows a lot about the attackers," Estilles said.

Earlier, the police interrogated a 21-year-old woman who reportedly sat at the drinking table after she was invited by Garcia. The latter met her when he bought cigarettes at a nearby store.

Police said that four armed men had been observed roaming in front of the Factors’ house in Barangay Don Galo, Parañaque before the attack last Monday.

Estilles has dispatched a team to provide security to the families of the victims.

The Factor brothers, Chan, Garcia and one Shermin Franco were engaged in a drinking session when armed men barged inside the Factor’s compound in Barangay Don Galo at around 1:30 a.m. last Monday.

Arvin and John Allen, Chan and Franco died from multiple gunshot wounds in the body, while Garcia was seriously wounded.

It was learned that a month ago, Arvin had figured in a heated argument with the suspects, who had parked their vehicle in front of the Factor compound.
