2 killed in QC road mishap

-
Two persons were killed yesterday in a road collision involving a truck and another vehicle along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.

Victims Edgar Guera, 28, of Diliman, Quezon City; and Dario Canot, 42, of Barangay Old Balara, were declared dead on arrival at the East Avenue Medical Center due to multiple injuries.

Meanwhile, Marvin Conde, 29, of Pandacan, the driver of an Isuzu tanker truck, with license plate RAX-234, surrendered to authorities immediately after the incident.

Police reports disclosed that the accident occurred at around 1:40 a.m. near the Commission on Audit office along Commonwealth Avenue.

Initial investigation showed that the victim’s vehicle, an Isuzu Elf Dropside, with license plate RAH-923, rammed onto Conde’s vehicle, which suddenly stopped in the middle of the avenue.

According to Conde, he suddenly stepped on the breaks to avoid a car that suddenly crossed the road. — Katherine Adraneda
