Makati fire leaves 280 families homeless

Some 280 families were rendered homeless in a fire that hit a compound in Barangay Singkamas, Makati City yesterday afternoon.
The blaze, which started at around 3:45 p.m. from one of the houses at the corner of Davila and Sunrise streets, reached the fifth alarm, according to Fire Officer 1 Wilfrido Nardo of the Makati Fire Station.
No one was reported hurt in the blaze.
Arson investigators said faulty electrical wiring at the house of a certain Violeta triggered the fire, which immediately spread to nearby houses.
Around 100 houses were razed by fire.
The property was reportedly owned by a foundation that involved actress Susan Roces and actor Pancho Villa.
