A Makati City employee yesterday commended a Northern Police District (NPD) officer for his honesty and for exerting effort in locating her to return the wallet she lost last week.
"Im truly grateful to witness the Lords miracle through the kindness of PO2 Jaime Gonzales," Joiecelyn Turla wrote NPD director Chief Superintendent Raul Gonzales to express her gratitude.
Her lost wallet contained P15,000 in cash and important documents.
"Now, I believe, that despite representation of some unscrupulous men in the Philippine National Police (PNP), there are still good men in your ranks," she added. .
Turla, a resident of Bo. Obrero, Manila, lost her wallet while riding an FX taxi in Makati City last Thursday night.
According to her elder brother, Jeffrey Turla, the cash belonged to the company where his sister was working. It was to be deposited in a bank the next day when she lost it.
"PO2 Gonzales is a real police officer living by his sworn duty to serve and to protect," the elder Turla said.
Gonzales, assigned at the NPDs District Mobile Force (DMF), exerted effort in locating Turla by using a cell phone SIM card he found inside the wallet.
The officer contacted persons whose names appeared in the SIM card in trying to find the wallets owner.
"I would like to commend one of your men for his honesty, which I assume he learned under your guidance," Turla told the NPD director. Pete Laude
