Cop 1 of 4 suspects in ambush try of food exec in Pasig

A policeman was identified as one of the four motorcycle-riding suspects in last Fridays failed ambush try on the vice president of a candy factory in Pasig City.
National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Vidal Querol claimed that the policeman was assigned at the Eastern Police District.
However, Querol could not ascertain whether the policeman has been arrested or still remains at large.
Quoting reports of EPD director Chief Superintendent Oscar Valenzuela, Querol said the policeman was identified by witnesses in the failed ambush of Fernando Sy, 59, a resident of Valle Verde V1, in Bgy. Ugong, Pasig City.
"What I know is that the policeman was identified by witnesses in the Sy payroll robbery," said Querol.
Valenzuela and Senior Superintendent Raul Medina, Pasig City police chief failed to return The Stars repeated telephone calls yesterday.
Sy has just parked his Camry infront of his office at Brixton St., in Barangay Kapitolyo at 12 p.m. Friday when the four suspects, riding in tandem on motorcycles appeared from nowhere.
As Sy stepped out of his vehicle, the four suspects opened fire, said prober PO3 Ike Jimenez.
Sy sustained a gunshot wound in the left side of the body and two more in the left leg. He is now being treated at the New Medical City hospital along Meralco Ave.
The suspects fled on board their motorcycles toward an unknown direction. Non Alquitran
