Belmonte welcomes Teletech to QC

- Perseus Echeminada -
Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. welcomed yesterday a leading global provider of customer management and business process outsourcing solutions to the city as Teletech opened its biggest, most modern facility in the Novaliches district.

"The Quezon City government is extremely pleased to welcome you as a new resident in our northern growth area," Belmonte said during the inauguration of the Teletech Customer Management Center at the Robinson’s Place mall.

Teletech officials, led by Philippines area chief Mel Vance gave the mayor and other guests a tour of the Novaliches site. The company’s 67th Customer Management Center, is one of the biggest outside the US with 1,500 workstations.

The facility has a fully equipped language laboratory, two electronic learning laboratories, a dining area and even a recreation room for personnel.

Nathan Zulueta, who was among the invited guests said the facility will help generate employment in Quezon City because city residents will get priority in hiring.

Also attending the opening was Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) general manager Lilia de Lima, who was impressed with Teletech’s state-of-the-art facility.

During the ceremony, Teletech vice president Craig Reines presented a community development program that seeks to provide scholarship grants to elementary and high school teachers for oral communication skills at the Ateneo de Manila University.

An initial batch of 50 teachers from various public schools will be given financial grants and post graduate training on oral communications skills.

Teletech began its operations in the Philippines in 2001, establishing its first site at Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City.
