The Valenzuela City police has busted a robbery and carnap gang in Marilao, Bulacan on Saturday when its gang leader and his trusted aide were nabbed.
Superintendent Billy Beltran, Valenzuela police chief, in his report to Northern Police District director Chief Superintendent Raul Gonzales, identified the suspects as Michael Sison, 25, alias Poroy, a resident of 19 Catleya st., Bahayang Pag-asa subdivision in Maysan, Valenzuela; and Manolo Navarro, 30, alias Zacarias, of Apartment-C, G. Marcelo st., also in Maysan.
Sison, who has a standing warrant of arrest for robbery, was tagged as the leader of the Poroy Group, a notorious robbery and carnap gang operating in the northern part of Metro Manila.
Senior Inspector Rhoderick Juan, Valenzuela police chief investigator, said that on Aug. 11, businessman Joel Tan, of Bahayang Pag-asa Subdivision in Maysan, reported to the police that his silver Mazda Tribute, with license plate XPY-385, worth P1.65 million, was stolen in his garage.
He said that the unidentified perpetrators also sneaked into his house and stole a black bag containing important papers, ATM cards, receipts, P15,000 and a $100 bill.
Investigation conducted by Beltrans men led to the raid over the weekend on Poroy Gangs suspected lair.
The operation resulted in the recovery of Tans lost black bag with some documents inside and the spare tire of his vehicle.
Informants told cops that the apartments occupants had just left before they arrived and were enroute to Marilao, Bulacan, on board the Mazda Tribute purportedly to meet with the buyer of the car.
The cops proceeded to Bulacan and were able to arrest Sison and Navarro while still inside the parked stolen vehicle.
