A 48-year-old man committed suicide by jumping off a bridge in Navotas last Friday.
Police said the body of Reynaldo Flavio, a resident of Gagalangin in Tondo, was found floating on the murky water under the C-3 Road bridge at around 8:10 a.m.
Witness Heidi Maglente, a resident of Kaunlaran Village in Navotas, told police that she saw the victim jump off the bridge at around 6 a.m.
Maglente said she saw him standing on the edge of the bridge facing the river and was surprised when he jumped into the water.
The man failed to surface.
Maglente immediately reported what she saw to barangay leaders.
After more than two hours of searching, fisherman Manny Beganes found the mans body floating near the riverbank.
Police said they were still trying to find out what made Flavio take his own life.
