Rob gang leader gunned down in Caloocan

Police shot dead an alleged leader of a notorious robbery and holdup gang in a shootout Saturday night in Caloocan City.
Emmanuel Villa, 20, alias Manok, jobless, and a resident of 99 Mascardo st., Barangay 32, Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City, died of multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
Police tagged the fatality as the leader of the notorious Villa Gang responsible for a series of robberies, particularly in Bagong Barrio area.
At around 10 p.m., Vermond Pineda sought the assistance of police sub-station operatives in Bagong Barrio, claiming that armed men tried to rob him while he was walking along Sapote corner Conception streets.
Station commander Superintendent Lino Garcia, immediately dispatched a six-man team to the area together with the complainant.
But while the cops were approaching Conception st., the group scampered to different directions.
Villa, who ran toward Sunflower Alley in between Adelfa and Conception streets was chased by the police.
When the cops was about to collar him, Villa reportedly fired at the lawmen forcing the cops to shoot back at the alleged gang leader, killing him on the spot.
Witnesses identified one of Villas cohorts as a certain Jeff Hapon. Police are now hunting him down as well as the other members of the gang
Northern Police District (NPD) Scene of the Crime Office (SOCO) team, led by SPO2 Nelson Buga-buga, recovered from the fatality an improvised pengun with a spent shell for a caliber .38 revolver in its chamber.
