Fire hits Cubao fiberglass plant

A three-hour fire of still unknown origin gutted a fiberglass assembly plant on 15th Avenue in Cubao Quezon City yesterday.

Chief Inspector Oscar Villegas, Quezon City fire marshal, said the fire broke out at around 10 a.m. and was declared under control by 1 p.m.

"We are still determining the cause of the fire and the amount of damage," Villegas said.

He said the fire destroyed the assembly line for pre-fabricated fiberglass furniture and toys intended for distribution to several malls in Metro Manila.

Villegas said there were no reported casualties or injuries during the fire.
