No clue yet on the identity of ABS-CBN director’s killer

-
Operatives of the Makati Police Department (MPD) are still facing a blank wall as to the real identity of the gunman in last week’s killing of an ABS-CBN director outside a bar in Makati City.

The remains of Luigi "Luis" Santiago, 27, was cremated at the Sanctuario de San Antonio yesterday morning.

Hi killer, identified only as "Oliver" has yet to be arrested, giving rise to fears that the suspect may have fled the country.

MPD-Homicide Division chief Senior Inspector Gary Reyes said they are now asking the victim’s family to help investigators handling the case.

According to Reyes, the Santiago family has information which will prove vital in identifying the suspect.

"We expect the family to help us since the victim has now been laid to rest," he told The STAR, adding that the Santiago family seems to know who the killer is.

Reyes said they still could not establish the real name of the gunman since they have Oliver as the given name and Castro, Angeles, and Perez as possible surnames.

"Our information on the identity of the suspect is based only on the statements of security guards and a fellow police officer," he explained.

The shooting rampage took place outside the V-Bar at Glorietta II, Makati City last June 8.

The suspect, armed with a .9mm pistol, allegedly went on a shooting rampage several meters away from the establishment before making a quick escape.

Reyes said Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) probers have yet to release the results of their investigation on the vehicle used by the suspect. Michael Punongbayan
