Rookie cop arrested in Quezon City

- Katherine Adraneda -
A rookie policeman was arrested by authorities after poking a gun at tricycle drivers in Quezon City yesterday.

PO1 Teodorico Carillo III, 31, of the Philippine National Police’s Custodial Unit Headquarters Special Services in Camp Crame, is now behind bars at the Central Police District-Station 1 in La Loma, following complaints lodged by tricycle drivers.

According to PO2 Jonathan Rodriguez, officer-on-case, Carillo and a male companion were having an argument at the corner of Mayon Avenue and Retiro st. in Barangay N.S. Amoranto when he suddenly drew his firearm.

Rodriguez said Carillo and his companion were both drunk.

Moments later, Rodriguez said Carillo poked his handgun at the tricycle drivers who were waiting for passengers at the terminal.  Rodriguez said Carillo even pulled the trigger but fortunately, the handgun’s chamber load was empty.

The tricycle drivers sought assistance from the police. Rodriguez said Carillo will be charged with grave threats before the court.
