Motorcycle riding gunmen shot dead a couple inside their car during a daring robbery at the corner of Araneta and E. Rodriguez Avenues in Quezon City shortly before noon yesterday.
Chief Inspector Rodolfo Jaraza, head of the Central Police District intelligence unit identified the victims as Efraim Go Young and his wife Wendalyn.
Initial police reports said that at about 11:30 a.m., the couple was on board a silver Honda CRV (XKR-873) when three men riding on a motorcycle stopped beside their vehicle which was stuck in heavy traffic near the intersection
Two of the men brandishing caliber .45 pistols alighted from the motorcycle and ordered the couple to open the doors. When the victims refused, the suspects opened fire.
The husband sustained several gunshot wounds and died on the spot while his wife was declared dead upon arrival at the St. Lukes Medical Center.
Jaraza said the three men took a big bag from the vehicle before they fled toward Sta. Mesa in Manila. Perseus Echemninada
